What to Expect
The first step is your free consultation.
If you’re interested in injectables, the consultant will sit with you while you look in the mirror and point out the spots that you want to tweak. Then we’ll discuss options specific to your needs.
Before Treatment
If you have a special event or vacation coming up, you may want to schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance.
If you have a rash, please get it treated before coming in.
Expect to reschedule any invasive treatments you planned to have up to two weeks before getting Voluma®.
During Treatment
Treatments are quick, easy, and done in less than an hour.
Expect some minimal discomfort during the treatment.
You have the option to receive a topical anesthetic prior to treatment.
After Treatment
You should see results right after getting treated but will see the full effect in one to two weeks.
You’ll be asked to avoid Aspirin while recovering—use acetaminophen instead.
You might have some minor swelling for a couple of weeks.

How long does the session last?

For your first treatment, you’ll need to set aside time for a free consultation with one of our consultants who can walk you through the process and answer any questions you may have. The treatments that follow should be even shorter in duration and require less of the substance.
Does Voluma® have any side effects?
- Side effects are rare, and they’re even less likely to happen when you seek the help of a trusted medical or nursing professional like those at Ideal Image. Some risks include redness, tenderness and swelling at the injection site. Also, as with all injections, there’s a chance of infection.
