POST - TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Immediately After the Peel and for Up To 24 Hours Post-Peel:

  • Avoid strenuous exercise (the day of procedure and for 24 hours post)
  • Avoid any activities that will make you sweat
  • Skin may be tight and redder than usual
  • Skin may feel tacky and have a yellow to orange tinge, this is temporary and will fade in a few hours
  • ***Avoid all sun exposure***
    • If you cannot stay completely out of the sun, sunscreen SPF 30 or higher must be applied before leaving the office
  • Wait until the following morning before washing the treatment area

24 Hours Post Peel-Until Peeling is Complete:

  • Use a gentle cleanser to wash the treatment area the morning after your peel and for at least 7 days post peel
  • For the first 48 hours or before the skin starts to peel/flake, moisturizer can be applied as often as needed to relieve any dryness
    • When the skin is peeling, moisturizer should be applied more frequently to control the peeling
  • Skin may be tight until it starts to peel
  • Peeling will generally start 48 to 72 hours after the procedure and can last 2 to 5 days
  • Over-the-counter acne remedies that are drying to the skin should be discontinued until the peeling process is complete or skin sensitivity resolves
  • Avoid sun exposure and apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) often throughout the day
  • DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN – Allow skin to peel at its own pace
    • Premature peeling of the skin will result in dry, cracked, raw skin that may develop into post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or scarring

ONLY After Peeling has ended:

  • You may resume the regular use of Retinol, Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products, or Bleaching Creams
  • Wait until skin sensitivity resolves before having any other procedures including facials, microdermabrasion, hair removal in the treatment area (including laser hair removal and shaving), injections (including injectable fillers), and topical tanning
